Isolinux bootloader beep no longer works

qemu is known not to be able to beep at boot, because of missing support
in its BIOS.  About your hardware, I don't know, that depends on the
manufacturer.  Is it known to beep e.g. at boot of a debian 7.x image
for instance? (which is known to have an isolinux which does beep at
boot).
