Bug#735202: speakup crashes debian (fwd)

Jude,

The bug might not be in speakup. I have been running kernel 3.12 for many
weeks in arch linux without this problem, and today I have upgraded to
3.12.9, still with no problem.

Be aware that debikan applies its own patches to kernel releases before
distributing them, while arch linux does not. It's not at all clear to me
that the fault lies with speakup in this case.
