Backing up multiple user data

Greg, if you don't need encryption, you could use netcat on both ends.

# Client
tar --bzip2 -cf - files-to-backup | nc server 5555

# Server
nc -l -p 5555 -e 'dd of=path/to/backup/file.tbz'

Of course, this has absolutely no security!  Look at ssh or rsh for that.
