Getting Apollo II to work

Hi Ernst,  I am still not quite clear on a number of issues you
metnioned but didn't clarify them:  If speakup was mentioned in the
/var/log/messages file did it indicate it was probing for any synth?
What was the synth it said it was probing for?  You also said you
build the Apolo and softsynth as modules did they get loaded?  How did
they get loaded?  You must load modules with either the echo
synth_module >/proc/speakup/synth_name method or the modprobe
speakup_synthmane method which did you use?  Did you specify a default
synth at compile time?  Which synth was it?  You see although you gave
us some information it was not enough to make any inteligent guess at
what you did let alone what went wrong.
