Unfortunately, it seems like the tools that configure ppp for you
insist that modems can be only on ttyS0 through ttyS3. The good news
is that these tools are just scripts that set things up for you, and
that you can modify that entire setup if you know what to do. So, if
you can refresh my mind on what distro you are using, I'll see if I
can tell you what you need to change manually. If you're running
slackware or debian, I should be able to help. If it's something else,
then someone else running your distro will need to tell you what
changes you need to make manually.
