unbootable hard disk

I had a problem like this with my wife's machine when we made some
changes recently. 

In your BIOS setup, check your IDE settings. Make sure that your disk
geometry (heads/cylinders/etc.) are set to autodetect and that all
your drives are being detected. You'll definitely need sighted
assistance for this.
