HELP!!! Can't compile speakup in Slackware kernel

I apologize, after going back to the web page it does infact look like
you are to install from the tarball.  That is interesting because I
never intended for that to be the standard way of installing.  Cvs is
much newer and maintained more closely than the tarball.  It is also a
much more automated way of installing speakup.
