Hi, Thomas:

I, for one, would appreciate knowing whether or not bells are supported in 
grub, somehow. Recall, as you look, that they're not directly supported in 
lilo. They're a by-product of the display of a message file, which can be 
made to contain ASCII $7.

The other issue is a reliable way to load one kernel (or configuration) 
versus some other. This would need to be something not based on 
remembering which one was loaded last time.
