Linux hanging when trying to set serial port.

Hi Joe:  Does he set up the modem with isapnp to place it on irq=5?
If the modem is normally pnp then it could be placed anywhere.  I
think the object is to nail down where he wants the modem to live from
a port/irq perspective.  He would get a hang or at least have problems
if the modem was left on the traditional irq=4 because that shares irq
with com1/ttyS0.  He can see where the modem is getting put in linux
by looking at /proc/interrupts or /proc/ioports for the command ports.
