Ot: using kernel-based virtual machine to run Windows XP

Hello ally,

Has anyone gotten KVM to run Windows XP successfully? I installed it 
fine and got JAWS set up, but sound dies randomly. One way to easily 
reproduce this is to try to set up Mozilla Firefox - sound completely 
stops working after it finishes extracting. I've tried using kvm with 
both the pulseaudio and alsa sound backends.
For reference, my specs are
AMD Athlon64 X2 6000+ running Gentoo 2008.0, linux 2.6.26.1, kvm-72/Qemu 
0.9.1.
