Why I can't recommend Arch or Gentoo

Thanks, Tony. I'll check this out, and the Debian one also. With at
least three highly-recommended Linux's out there, it's hard to decide
which one to choose and use.

Since I'll be in a GUI after boot, how can I increase volume for
speech without being able to run Alsamix?
