Debian installation with a hardware synth for speakup

Hi,
I downloaded my image from Debian's site by clicking on Download Debian 7.2
(32/64-bit PC Network installer) link. There is an installation menu
available allowing you to choose between 32 & 64-bit installation. You can
press the tab key to move to boot prompt where you can input your
parameters. I am doing my installation using a Braille display and
activating speakup at first boot up.

Your input line has typo perhaps. In the documentation for speakup apollo is
spelled with a lower case first letter a. Your line, as typed in the email,
uses a capital lett a in apollo.

I have just finished installing Debian 7 with speech from their site using
the "small cd". It does not come up to a boot prompt where you can type what
you want. Are you using  the "small cd" from Debian? Or perhaps something
different.
