Hello Hank. Emacsspeak is a screen reader that functions inside emacs,
a text editor. Speakup is a screen reader that is built in to the linux
kernel. Orca is a screen reader that functions under the gnome gui
environment for linux. You probably want to use speakup for text
console applications, and orca for applications under gnome, such as
firefox.
In addition to this mail list, you can go to linux-speakup.org for more
information about speakup.
