I am actually quite interested in looking at the Coreboot project, and the prices of the newer supported boards don't look significantly higher than unsupported boards. I will definitely be looking up any documentation for configuring it, since if this can be done from Linux, even if if it needs to be reflashed once configured, it would certainly be the best option, since it may not even require a second machine just to tweak something.
