What is .WITH. the Debian amd64 kernel and SpeakUP?

Well you know Igor, I'm getting pretty old so I don't remember the
problem you are describing except as some vague memory possibly.  The
problem I'm speaking of happens on all quad core machines as far as I
know.  At least, everyone I know with a quad core box.  It has nothing
to do with amd64 or not.  The problem may also show up on dual core
machines except that it happens with less frequency thus not being
noticed as the same issue.
