espeakup sharing soundcard

Hello,

My pc has an onbaard soundcard and a second m-audio card with one playback channel.

Which card will espeakup use?  Will it always use the first or default card or can we tell it to use a specific device?

If espeakup is using a particular card, what options do I have to share it with other applications?

I know there are a lot of questions here, but perhaps it will open an interesting thread.
