Installing Slackware with Speakup and Espeak

Hello. I want to get Linux on my Netbook, an EeePC 1000HE. I use
Slackware. I noticed that the speakup.s kernel has soft synth support,
but strangely, the installation dvd doesn't seem to have espeak. I
consider the best solution to get it installed, I wonder about making a
custom installation DVD with the addition of espeak and espeakup. I
thought of a few other ways, but getting it talking as quickly as
possible seems like the best thing. I wondered if anyone had any input,
or had done this.
