You'll also need to use the swspeak boot option to enable speakup on GRML.
Speakup is not loaded automatically.

O, I forgot to mention. If you go the grml rroute, you will need to get the
"normal" cd, as speakup isn't built into the others. YOu also asked about
burning an ISO; you need a program to do that, you can use geniso from
Linux, or you'll need something like Ultraiso on windows. YOu can't just
extract and burn the cd because you won't get the bootloader burned.
