The vanishing PC speaker

Hi.  It's likely the system doesn't have a physical speaker.  My last desktop didn't.  Since I never use a beep
in the boot loader, it isn't a big deal for me.  I've seen a C program to play a sound on the sound card instead
of the beep, but that's the best you will likely be able to do.
