Hi, I have used this successfully, and installed my registered copy
into my system and am using that also.
I may have found a couple of things to be aware of when running the test ISO:
when navigating the list of backup options, it's nice as they
actually place an X inside the brackets to show that an option is
checked, rather than the usual asterisk. I'm wondering if anyone
will get into the situation I can get into, when you have selected
where the backup is going to and you are in the list of options such
as whether to validate the archives, ignore unused sectors, page
files and so forth, there is a column beside it with options to set
the level of data compression and so forth. I can press Tab to get
across to this column, but have to press space to actually move focus
to it, so as you can use the up and down arrow key to hear the
settings being spoken.
It is just speakup interpreting what's going on, the way IFL presents
the info seems to cause this.
Once a task is running, even if I mute speakup's output by pressing
numpad enter, I find that speakup will stop working after a while,
which seems to be consistant whether I am running it off this test
ISO, or from within the Debien distro where I am running my own copy
with software speech. I just turn speakup off with insert+numpad
enter, and check to see what's happening occasionally.
Another thing I've found, is that speakup's cursor will be placed at
the top of the window, rather than on an OK or Next button. The neat
thing about IFL, is that you can type Y for yes, O for ok, N for next
and so forth, rather than pressing enter.
I am looking forward to having it available in the paid version
though for us users. I still don't know what to do about a system I
have here, that literally has no serial ports or parallel ports, not
even in device manager! Serial card anyone?
Marcel
