GRML and apollo synth

Well, I took a look at grml for the first time over this weekend and I
had the same experience with my Speakout (module name spkout).  It
never came up talking after boot but I tried 'modprove speakup_spkout'
and it began talking.  Maybe this but applies to all serial synths?
