List subject (was: Re: sound in debian)

I think it would be a good idea to have some kind of list guidelines 
posted somewhere even if they were to say everything goes so that people 
would be able to make an informed decision as to whether they want to join 
or not.  For me personally, I joined with the idea that this was a list 
about Speakup specifically and that maybe every once in a while Linux or 
Linux access questions for the blind might come up from time to time. 
But honestly, I would not have joined if I knew floods of Mac OS X with 
other screen reader hand holding would hit my mailbox with no kibosh put 
on it.  Now, I am certainly not telling anyone how I think the list should 
be run at all.  I am just saying that I would have liked to know that 
ahead of time so I could have made a more informed decision about whether 
to sign up or not.
