That's interesting, I assume you're talking about an LT on a serial port.

difference seems to be that in your case it does start speaking before
the freeze whereeas mine doesn't talk at all.

Assuming they're the same freeze, which sounds unlikely, it shouldn't be hardware
related as finding the doubletalk pc at it's unique i/o address
is entirely different than finding it on a ttyS# port.
