I have a boot freeze with a refurbished asus machine I got from smartco last week and it's happening with werewolf too. Very shortly after speakup starts speaking too. I'll try in a few and silence speakup on a boot and see how far it goes then. I used the i686 kernels for installation too. This is with 512MB of ram so memory isn't an issue either.
