Perhaps just patches.
Then might as well try my 2.6.23 kernel.
Tell me if you want it its a .deb and I'll upload it somewhere...
Its about 18 mb and to install you would just do:
sudo dpkg -i linux-image2.6*.deb
(Can't remember the rest of the file name.)
And that does grub too!
