linux on a windows box

Hi. So where can i download some of these live cds?
and if I install a package, does it get installed on the cd, or the hd?

I'd already answered this one.  Looking for yourself doesn't hurt.  Live
CD's are all kept in RAM so it is not on the disk nor the CD.  Unless you
mount your hard disk and write to it.  Owing to the specs you stated I
recommended GRML so a search in your favourite search engine will give you
all the information you need.
