serial ports (was 4DOS)

Another thing to look into if you have a PC without a serial port is whether
the motherboard actually has a serial port header block on it.  In other
words, your motherboard might have a serial port but it's just not connected
to the case. If so, you can just buy a $5 adapter that goes from the
motherboard to the back of the case.
