Bug in grml?

Hi,
Sorry, I'm not a programmer otherwise I would try to fix it myself. I
read something in the change log saying that a problem with a different
synth was fixed by changing the timeout delay when probing. It's
strange because I've not had this particular problem with any other
kernel, either on a boot CD, floppy, or hard disk. I can easily send a
patch to fix the init string, but all that's really necessary is to
remove the "pe -380" from the commands first sent to the unit. Maybe
changing the timeout delay would help, I don't know. Perhaps this
particular bug was introduced later in the CVS code for Speakup which
grml is using. I can try to test any fixes, but I'm not a programmer
and would rather avoid trying to compile kernels.
