Speakup and Software Speech with Gentoo Linux

Hi Keith,
The default synth option has been removed, since we aren't using it.
You have to tell speakup which synthesizer to run on the kcl if speakup
is built in.
For grub, add the following to the kernel line in your grub.conf.
speakup.synth=synthname
To run software speech, use:
speakup.synth=soft
I don't know if you saw my message yesterday, but gentoo now has speakup
available as a package, so you don't need to use git unless you want to
continue building speakup into the kernel.
