Please Help - speakup cvs installation - patch errors

Dear Speakup,

I installed speakup on 64 bit machine by running checkout script from speakup
cvs and I got the following errors. Please advice. Thanks

Patching files [ppatch: **** Can't create file /usr/src/linux/drivers : Is a
directory
] done.
Copying files [ccp: cannot stat
`/usr/src/linux/drivers/char/speakup/diff-v/*.copy': No such file or directory
] done.
