I stand to be corrected, but I am fairly sure that your CMOS battery
is just fine, since the state of your CMOS battery has no effect on a
running machine, until you cut the power to that machine. 

However, if you really want to be sure that your CMOS battery is fine,
do:

cat /proc/driver/rtc

If the last line of the resulting output says:

batt_status     : okay

your CMOS battery is definitely not the problem.
