available software synthesizer called eSpeak found at
http://espeak.sourceforge.net
You will want to download the file called
test-1.09-linux.zip
since it has all the latest features and improvements.  Also, if you
decide to use eSpeak, I have slightly modified the speech-dispatcher
module to take advantage of most of these features.  I will send you my
version of the file if you like.
