Hynek,

Is there any possibility that a future version of speech-dispatcher
would include a run time parameter to choose synthesiser module? If I
want to switch between flite and software dectalk, I don't know of any
other way to do it than to change the default module variable inside the
speechd.conf file. I'm thinking of modifying my rc.speakup script so I
could not only choose between hardware speech on the fly, but also
choose which synth module I use.

BTW, I have Slackware binary packages of Speech Dispatcher 0.6 and
speechd-up 0.3 available if anyone would like to try them out. I have
then as close to FS-stnd compliant as possible so it should look like
any other Slackware package:).
