mailman help?

Hello list,
I was wondering if someone new what was going on here?
I do newlist general_notices, and I get an illeagle list name, general_notices at tysdomain.
I can't do listname at tysdomain.homelinux.net, because it always appends the host name after the list...
Any idea how to fix this?
