A Linux Laptop including speech?

I think one of the reasons that you're not getting many answers is that 
there aren't too many alternatives to just going out and buying a laptop 
and installing linux on it. The only thing I can suggest is that you try to 
find a used laptop because neither speakup or emacspeak require much 
processing power.

I'm running DECtalk and emacspeak on a laptop with an  original pentium 150 
Mhz with 56 Mb of RAM. I also have speakup on it but it's configured to use 
an external hardware synth.  Anyway, I'm real happy with it and now-a-days 
you can pick up a machine like that for practically nothing because it 
won't run Win XP.
