Resolved issue with Speakup and Gentoo-Sources kernel...

Hi,
Kirk: Finally managed to track down my issue.
I looked at the characters table in speakup. It had no names, only simbols.
Oh and BTW...Pitch-case did not work with the  version either. Didn't matter if a letter was capital or not.
So, I fianlly installed:
Gentoo-sources 2.6.19-Gentoo-R2,
And upgraded speechd-up.
I believe that I traced this to a speechd-up bug.
BTW..Kirk...just what is speechd-up and how does it work? Just wondering. And is software speech an CPU-intensive process when set to nice -20? Thank you! Regards, --Keith
