Think you'd still have to build a 2.6.11 speakup-enabled kernel on Debian. The
speakup-enabled debian installer iso has a 2.6 speakup but I don't know what
version of the 2.6 kernel it is or how well it works. You might be able to get
something by doing a search on apt-get.org.
