debian and sata drives

Hi people,

Has anyone attempted an installation of Debian Sarge with a speakup 
modified kernel on a system using a SATA drive? Are there problems to be 
expected? I am looking at a preemptive replacement here and am 
considering moving to a SATA drive. Any experience would be helpful to 
know about, pro or con.
