Hi, I don't think Debian has an AMD64 version (I use I386), but I have used Ubuntu with the AMD64 version, and I find the speed is just about the same as the I386 kurnel. The other issue with the AMD64 kurnel is that there is more software precompiled for I386. Thanks. Andrew.
