changing voice in speakup

Hi,
Did you echo the value to voice as I explained in another message?  
The message is below again for your convenus. 
Hi, you may wish to read  the speakup users guide  it explains fully how
to use the speakup proc system. 
The users guide is found at http://www.linux-speakup.org 

To access it you would type 
Echo int > file 
Replace int with the number you want and replace file with the setting
you want to change. 
Type ls from the proc/speakup directory to get a list of files. To see a
file value type more filename. Replace filename with the value you want
to see. Hth
