In my humble opinion, that's not a big factor, since if you like services and
everything else an ISP offers, but don't like the equipment, you can
always sign up for the service, and buy whatever equipment you want, as
long as it will work with your ISP'S DSL service, which should be the
case for any XDSL equipment you can buy.
