lynx question

Hi Glen --
Well, you can actually go to the lynx.cfg file and set the SHOW_CURSOR
option to true if you want this to be turned on by default.
Otherwise the cursor is kept at the lower right corner of the screen rather
than on the current link.
Don't know how you use lynx without show_cursor turned on.
The command line option just toggles what is in the lynx.cfg file.
Good luck.

Thanks, that info is useful for future problems/needs.
But here, I just want to get it into /etc/.
So I am able to type /etc/ in front of the file name, but there is no
arrowing around on anything on the darn page, it is just space bar to move
down, or page up to go back up to the top.
Once I am on the file, I press d, and it indicates that I am ready to
download, but when I press enter, it opens up to some print options.
I think this is due to my being logged in as anonymous? At least I think I
read something about being only able to download in a certain method if I am
logged in as anonymous.
But I am about to try the -show_cursor option, as I think this may give me
some ability to move around to the save option.
Glenn

What I think your asking is how to download the file onto a floppy in
windows, and move it into place on your gnu/linux box. If that's what
you're asking, then here goes.

1. Download the file to the floppy with ie, or whatever else you use
in windows.

2. Mount the floppy on your gnu/linux box with something like:

mount /mnt/floppy

3. Move the file from the floppy to your /etc directory:

mv /mnt/floppy/vsftpd.conf /etc/

4. Unmount the floppy with something like:

umount /mnt/floppy

5. Restart your ftp server.

Hth.
