cdrecord works with IDE cdrom drives using a generic SCSI driver. There is an ide-scsi emulation layer, see this: http://www.linuxhelp.net/guides/idecdr/ And look at the many FAQs on linux cd burning, they all tell you how to configure your IDE burner. -- Doug
