tag management on mp3 files

I have some scripts I use for tagging mp3's based on their file names;
it assigns track number artist and title depending on how the file is
named.  I will attach it to this message and hope it doesn't make the
message too big.

There is a command line utility I use called id3v2 which allows one to
view and alter ID3 tags with command line options.  In fact, that is
what I use with my mp3tag script.

On second thought, I better reply privately with attached.  I hate it
when my messages bounce for size!
