having speak up installation problems

it stops speaking when I go to install the debian base system from the cd
rom
the cable is plugged in I have checked that
I got a few pcs here that I am putting debian on I had sighed help on this
dule boot system but what is going on is when I hit inter on the install
base system from cd rom is when I loose all speech.
