compiling flite on fedora core 2

Hi all
     Has anyone successfully compiled flite 1.2 on fedora
core 2? I haven't yet been successful, my compilation fails with the
following errors:
gcc    -I../include -g -O2 -Wall    -c find_sts_main.c -o find_sts_main.o
find_sts_main.c: In function `find_sts':
find_sts_main.c:96: error: assignment of read-only member `size'
find_sts_main.c:100: error: assignment of read-only location
find_sts_main.c:103: error: assignment of read-only location
make[1]: *** [find_sts_main.o] Error 1
make: *** [.make_build_dirs] Error 2
      Has anyone compiled it successfully on FC2 or, better yet, anyone
know where I can get flite RPMS?
