Why does a module show as unused when the synth is talking?

I am not sure of the answer to that in 2.6.x kernels but in 2.4.x
kernels it's because I don't use the DEC_USE_MODULE and INC_USE_MODULE
macros.  They were depricated in 2.6 and so I tried without them in
2.4 and it worked so I left them out.  Good question though.
