Speechd-up Issues

you all need to remember one thing.
speechd_up and speechd-dispatcher and the speakup softsynth driver are
at best experimental at this stage.
it isn't going to just work in all cases.
you need to plug away at it.
and quit whyning when it don't work.
here's the steps of what I did.
1. providing you have all the dependencies and the synth of choice, get
and compile speechd_up.
2. if you haven't already done so recompile the kernel to include
softsynth support and compile speakup and it's synths as modules.
3. reboot the whole thing and login as root.
4.
make the device /dev/softsynth mknod /dev/softsynth c 10 26
4. unload your synth driver with rmmod speakup_synthstring.
5. load the softsynth driver modprobe speakup_sftsyn
6. run speechd_up with the "-s" flag. note the lower case s.
7. do a ctrl+c and kill speechd_up.
8. run speechd_up again with no flags.

You have speech! how about that.
there's the steps outlined for you all to follow. now as I said it is at
best experimental so don't bitch if it don't work.
it's free software so if it breaks you get to keep all the pieces.
