Hi, this machine has Exim installed with Debian. Configurin it took a
lot of google'ing and work, which hopefully culminated today. You have
to run eximconf, the exim configuration utility. If you use an isp with
smtp to check your mail, answer option 2, a smarthost. Your local domain
should probably say the same as your machine name. You will have to
translate the address at some point. Lots of ways probably exist, one
file suggested the way this system uses, writing a transport filter.
Just ask if you need help. Eximconf should set you straight. Just
getting started here too. One thing not said imediately in any tutorial,
make sure you have your email address in the /etc/email-addresses file.
Oh yes and you will have to install fetchmail. Use dselect for that too.
Some also use getmail. Fetchmail works fine here.
