Hi all. I'm trying to set up samba as a domain controler for a couple if
winblows boxes. I have the following in my smb.conf which I think should
do the trick:
[global]
        workgroup = LAN
        netbios name = H14ME
        server string = Linux Dns/SMBServer
        encrypt passwords = Yes
        update encrypted = Yes
        log level = 3
        log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log
        domain logons = Yes
        preferred master = Yes
        domain master = Yes
        dns proxy = No
        wins support = Yes
But whenever I try to login from the winblows box it says that the
password is invalid or the domain server denies access or something like
that. it doesn't seem to want to connect. does anyone have this setup?
bc I think this should work fine but it's not.
no log messages get written to the logfiles so I dont even think windows
is trying to connect.
